Beta terms, in plain language. A formal version reviewed by counsel will replace this page; the substance below will not get worse for you when it does.
The short version. Your content is yours. The notes Sapience derives from it are also yours. We use your content only to run the service for you, never to train models, and never to sell. Sharing happens only when you say so and is revocable. The beta is free, provided as-is, and either of us can end it at any time — if you leave, your data goes with you or gets deleted, your choice.
Sapience is a memory system for your AI tools, currently in invite-only beta, operated by CoreTx, Inc. It builds a store of short structured notes ("knowledge objects") from sources you connect, surfaces them back to you and your AI tools, and — when you choose — lets you share defined slices with people you name.
Everything you put in is yours, and everything Sapience derives from it is yours too. That includes your AI session history, documents you add, the knowledge objects distilled from them, and the structure built on top. You grant us only the narrow license needed to operate the service for you: to store your notes, process them to build and maintain your memory, and transmit them where you direct (to your own AI tools, or to people you have shared with). This license ends when the content is deleted.
Distilling sources into notes uses AI models. Depending on your setup this runs on your machine, through your own provider key, or — with your consent at install — transiently through our servers at our cost. Model providers used this way process text to return a result and are not permitted by us to train on it. Your content is never used to train anyone else's model, and we do not use your content to improve the service for anyone but you.
Nothing crosses to another person without an explicit action from you (minting a share code or accepting one). Shared knowledge is read-only, scoped to what you named, carries your name, and is revocable at any time. You are responsible for having the right to share what you share.
Do not use the service to store or share content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or to attempt access to another person's store. Tokens are personal credentials — treat them like passwords, and tell us if one leaks so we can rotate it.
The beta is free of charge and offered as-is, with no uptime commitment and no warranty. Features may change, appear, or disappear. We work hard not to lose data, and you should still keep originals of anything irreplaceable. If we introduce paid tiers, beta participants hear first and nothing changes for you without notice.
You can stop any time. Ask and we will export your store, delete it entirely, or both — deletion is confirmed to you when complete, and it means deletion, including our copies. We can suspend accounts that break these terms, with notice and reasons.
To the maximum extent the law allows, our liability under these beta terms is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service (during the free beta: zero). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
When these terms change, this page changes, and beta participants hear about material changes by email before they take effect.
